How many calories in, how many burned?
Most weight problems come from the gap between energy in and energy out. CanlıDostum tracks calories burned on walks, runs and play and shows them next to meals.

The feeding guide on the bag doesn't fit everyone
Bag guidelines are written for an average animal. A neutered, senior or very active pet can need very different amounts.
Small extra treats can also add up to a big share of daily calories. Without measuring, it is hard to stay in control.
- Your dog is slowly gaining weight for no clear reason
- Portions were not adjusted after neutering
- Treats are not counted
- Nobody knows how active the pet really is

How to calculate daily calorie needs
Veterinary nutrition commonly starts with the resting energy requirement (RER) and multiplies it by a life-stage factor.
1. Resting energy requirement (RER)
2. Daily needs = RER × factor
| Life stage | Dog | Cat |
|---|---|---|
| Neutered adult | × 1.6 | × 1.2 |
| Intact adult | × 1.8 | × 1.4 |
| Weight loss (ideal weight) | × 1.0 | × 0.8 |
| Active / working | × 2.0–5.0 | — |
| Puppy / kitten | × 2.0–3.0 | × 2.5 |

Tips for calorie balance
- Treats should be no more than 10% of daily calories.
- Weigh food with a kitchen scale, not by eye.
- Weigh your pet every 2–4 weeks; changes should be slow and steady.
- Aim for about 1–2% of body weight per week when losing weight (cats: more cautious).
